Form SRM II is now live on GST portal!

GSTN issued an update on 07th June 2024 that the facility to report the details of inputs and outputs procured and consumed for the relevant month has been made available on the GST Portal to file the information in Form GST SRM-II.

This form is applicable for manufacturers of Pan Masala and Tobacco taxpayers.

GSTN issued an update on 16th May 2024 that the facility to register the machines has been made available on the GST Portal to file the information in Form GST SRM-I.

Filing of information by manufacturers of Pan Masala and Tobacco taxpayers

Please refer to notification No. 04/2024 – Central Tax dated 05-01-2024 to seek information from taxpayers dealing in the goods mentioned therein. Two forms have been notified vide this notification namely GST SRM-I and GST SRM-II. The former pertains to the registration and disposal of machines while the latter asks for information on inputs and outputs during a month. Form GST SRM-I meant for registration of machines has already been made available on the portal w.e.f. 15-05-2024. Concerned taxpayers are using the same for the registration of machines and other information asked therein.

Now, the second form namely, Form GST SRM-II is also available on the portal. Taxpayers dealing in the manufacture of Pan Masala and Tobacco products can now report the details of inputs and outputs procured and consumed for the relevant month.

How to file Form SRM II on the portal?

  • Go to www.gst.gov.in and log in using valid credentials.
  • Go to Services and click Returns menu.

  • Click “SRM Forms (Pan masala/Tobacco)”.

  • Select Financial Year and click SEARCH:

  • Form SRM-II will be displayed. Click PREPARE ONLINE, fill out the form, and submit.
  • Note that the due date for filing Form SRM II is the tenth day of the month succeeding such a month.

Conclusion

The taxpayers manufacturing certain goods are now required to file FORM GST SRM- I, II, and III. Form SRM I is live and other forms will be implemented shortly. Taxpayers shall ensure timely compliance of the same.
